Reports To: HFA Programs Manager
Pay Grid: Level 2 - $19/hr
Department: Health, Fitness, and Aquatics
Hours: Full time - 40hrs/week

What qualifications are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have the following:
Education/Certifications/Credentials/Professional Registration
• Provincially/Nationally recognized Group Fitness Instructor Certification-(YMCA, AFLCA, Can Fit Pro) an asset
• National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) an asset
• Certificate or Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or related experience an asset
• Standard First Aid, CPR-Level C
• Evidence of a clear Police Information Check (with Vulnerable Sector Search if applicable), within the last six months
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a class 07 automobile insurance coverage business use (or pleasure with occasional business use) and a minimum of $2,000,000 in liability coverage
Knowledge & Skills
• Proficient computer skills, MS Office suite an asset
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Ability to act professionally in all situations, representing the YMCA according to its core values
• Able to deal with difficult situations and complaints with confidence
• Excellent customer services, organization, and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
What does this role look like at the YMCA of Southeastern Alberta?
Reporting to the HFA Program Manager, the Program Supervisor, is responsible for providing leadership to the program staff on behalf of the South Ridge and Downtown branches. This is a key role to help advance member satisfaction and growth in programing. This position will embrace a program growth strategy that has the YMCA actively recruiting and developing relationships with users and encouraging membership to the YMCA.
The responsibilities and duties of this role will include but is not limited to:
• Maintain high service standards and satisfaction ratings that are reflected in the achievement of annual youth membership growth, youth program growth and retention targets.
• Provide direct leadership to a team of approximately 15 staff and 5 volunteers; ensure staff have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties in line with YMCA expectations
• Maintain and complete program paperwork, spreadsheets, emails and any other administrative work as needed
• Candidates must be able to work days, evenings and weekends as required outside of regular shifts
• May lift or move items up to 50 lbs including children
