Becoming a YMCA Volunteer - The Process
As a youth-focused organization, the YMCA takes the safety and well-being of children seriously. We adhere to nationwide Child Protection and Safety standards, policies, and procedures. Part of this involves a vetting and training process for all potential volunteers. This includes providing references who can attest to your character and providing a clear Police Information Check, with the Vulnerable Sector Search for any positions directly involved with children and youth (cost covered by the YMCA). Once accepted, an onboarding process can begin that includes a short training course on our Child Protection and Safety policies and procedures.
Step 1: Contact the YMCA’s Volunteer Manager to express your interest in volunteering and obtain a Volunteer application form.
