Welcome to the YMCA of Medicine Hat
Did you know the YMCA is more than a gym?
The YMCA is the largest child care provider in Medicine Hat. Families with children ages 0 – 5 can access care at the John Millar and Crescent Heights Child Development Centres. This includes an option for working parents to access extended care evenings and weekends. The YMCA also offers Before & After School Care programs for children in Kindergarten to grade 6 in 11 schools. Licensed Community Day Camps are provided during PD days and school breaks, ensuring eligible families can access Government of Alberta child care subsidy to offset their costs.
Community Programs available through the YMCA include the Alternative Suspension Program, Camp Jude, Y-Fusion, and YMCA Parent. These programs serve youth experiencing issues related to mental health, addiction, trauma, anxiety, parenting, anger, etc.
Employment Services are offered in Medicine Hat and Brooks. With over 13 different programs, we can help any Albertan over the age of 15 find and maintain employment. We also provide job fairs and hiring events for employers to assist in their recruitment efforts.
Health, Fitness, and Aquatics offer opportunities for all levels and abilities to reach their potential through the Living Fit Program, group fitness classes, yoga, personal training, individual weight/cardio experiences, child and youth programming, and summer day camps. We also offer many aquatics programs including lane swim, aquafit, swimming lessons, lifeguard training, and First Aid certification.
