Volunteer Board Member

We are seeking a new volunteer Board Member to join our team!

We are committed to building a diverse culture at the YMCA of Medicine Hat that closely matches our community and we welcome anyone to apply to join our Board of Directors. 

Qualifications:

      • 18 or older

      • Clear Police Information Check

      • Previous experience working on a Policy Governance Board (i.e., NOT an operational board)

      • Commitment to the YMCA’s core values, mission, and vision

      • Commitment to the YMCA’s national child protection standards

      • Ability to use the MS Office Suite, including SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams 

Specifically seeking individuals with expertise or experience in:

      • Funds development/philanthropy

      • DEI 

Commitment

      • Attendance at the upcoming AGM on the evening of November 27th

      • Attendance at all board meetings, in-person preferred (4-5 meetings per year)

      • Active participation in at least one board committee (monthly or quarterly meetings)

      • Attendance at YMCA events

      • Assistance with fundraising

      • Act as a YMCA ambassador in the community
