You can designate your gift in your will to a specific YMCA program or service. As program names and types of services vary over time. YMCA staff would be happy to help you craft the wording for your bequest to take this into consideration.
When you make YMCA of Medicine Hat the owner and beneficiary of your life insurance policy, the YMCA can issue a tax receipt for the full value of your policy premiums. When you make the YMCA of Medicine Hat the beneficiary, but retain ownership of the policy, a tax receipt for the value of the benefit will be issued to your estate.
With a gift of $25,000 or greater, you may establish a named endowment in honour of a loved one or in honour of your family. Arrangements can be made with YMCA staff for both current or deferred gifts. Named endowments allow friends and family members to make tribute gifts, in memoriam gifts, and special occasion gifts as well (birthdays and anniversaries).
RRSPS AND RRIFS
You can designate the YMCA of Medicine Hat as the beneficiary of your Registered Retirement Saving Plan (RRSP) or Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF).
GIFTS OF PROPERTY
You can donate real estate and other large capital items to the YMCA of Medicine Hat. Prior to doing so it is advisable to contact the YMCA to discuss.
