  • Donor and Philanthropy Letter - March 2020

We want to assure our donors that we do have a business continuity plan in place and will ensure our YMCA weathers this unexpected situation. As we each respond to this crisis personally and professionally, we have been overwhelmed and truly humbled by the number of people who have reached out and asked to support the YMCA during this time by continuing their membership fee payments or donating their childcare refunds back to the Association. Coming together as a local community to support one another has never been more important than it is today, and we would like to thank each and every person who is thinking of supporting local charities in the midst of this crisis.

  • Before & After School Care Fee Letter - March 2020

We believe the right thing to do in this situation is refund families any fees that were pre-paid to cover March 16 – 31 . Our programs closed as of March 16 and we do not believe families should have to pay for a service they did not receive, especially considering the current situation.

  • Child Care Fee Letter - March 2020

We believe the right thing to do in this situation is refund families any fees that were pre-paid to cover March 16 – 31. Our programs closed as of March 16th and we do not believe families should have to pay for a service they did not receive, especially considering the current situation. The refund amount will be a calculation based on the number of hours your child was registered for/attended between March 1 – 13. Refunds will be returned to your original method of payment (i.e., credit card or EFT) on Friday, March 20th.

  • Member Letter March 17, 2020

Update regarding membership payments during COVID-19 closure
  • COVID-19 Closures

Our charity is responding to COVID-19 across all these programs. The health of our staff, volunteers, participants, members and the broader community is our priority. We are following the advice of public health agencies and continue to pay close attention to their evolving updates.

Earlier today, The Government of Alberta declared all licensed child care facilities, out-of-school care programs and preschool programs be closed indefinitely. This means that the following YMCA of Medicine Hat child care programs will close effective 11:59 pm tonight (March15, 2020)

We are taking the situation very seriously, and as it has evolved, we have decided to close both of our Health and Fitness centres and cancel all of our programs and services in these centres until further notice.

We will be making arrangements to credit you for your membership and during this closure. Please be patient as we work through these details.

Employment Centres – Medicine Hat & Brooks remain open
