The YMCA of Medicine Hat is pleased to announce the opening of the Lifejacket Loaner Station.  This program could not be possible without the generous donation from the Rotary Club of Medicine Hat.

Rotarians know the importance and impact the YMCA has in addressing the needs of our community. In the early years (1918-1920) members of the Rotary Club of Medicine Hat would each donate a half day towards the Red Triangle Appeal, a fundraising campaign supporting efforts of the YMCA. The Red Triangle was the YMCA's first logo, representing Body, Mind, and Spirit.

The YMCA is proud to continue the long-standing partnership with the Rotary Club of Medicine Hat through the new loaner station.  The Lifejacket Loaner Stations provide:

  • Lifejackets of all sizes for the public to borrow, at no cost, and then return after use.
  • The jackets provided can be used for all water activities (swimming, boating, etc.).
  • The station also offers excellent Water Smart® educational materials on lifejacket fit, smart boaters, drinking and drowning, and more.

If you are interested in borrowing a lifejacket or would like more information regarding the station, please call or visit our downtown branch.
