  • IMPACT OF NEW RESTRICTIONS ON BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE PROGRAMS AND May 21st PD DAY LICENSED DAY CAMP

    On Tuesday night the Government of Alberta announced new restrictions that will see all schools transition to online learning from May 6th – 25th. During this time, all YMCA Before & After School Care Programs must also close. We deeply regret this unplanned closure; however, it is important that our community does what is necessary to keep everyone safe.
  • IMPORTANT MEMBER UPDATES May 5, 2021

    Last night the Government of Alberta announced new restrictions for regions with at least 50 cases per 100,000 people, and at least 30 active cases. The community of Medicine Hat falls within that range. These restrictions are in place for at least 3 weeks and will be extended if necessary
  • YMCA of Medicine Hat Takes June 19th River Run Virtual

    The YMCA had hoped to offer the event both in-person and virtually this year, however the current rise in COVID-19 case numbers and variants of concern has led the organization to make the decision to transition to an entirely virtual event. The health and safety of participants, employees, and volunteers is the YMCA’s highest priority.
  • YMCA of Medicine Hat – A finalist for the Alberta Business Awards of Distinction

    This year’s Mentorship Award finalists are predominantly from Medicine Hat. The YMCA is pleased to share the stage with two other wonderful local organizations: Masterpiece Southland Meadows and REDI Enterprises.

  • YMCA of Medicine Hat Receives Funding to Provide Affordable Licensed Summer Day Camps

    The YMCA of Medicine Hat has been awarded $30,000 by the United Way of South Eastern Alberta to directly offset the cost of licensed summer day camps. As a result of this funding, families will save 50% on registration fees, paying only $100 per week. Registration for these licensed programs opens May 25th through the YMCA’s online member portal.

  • YMCA of Medicine Hat Expands June 19th River Run

    The YMCA of Medicine Hat’s annual River Run has been a tradition in the community for more than 35 years, raising dollars to support the YMCA’s Strong Kids program. While the COVID-19 pandemic forced its cancellation last summer, the YMCA is pleased to announce that it has expanded options this year to ensure the event can proceed safely, in compliance with all public health regulations. This year participants can choose to participate in-person OR virtually.

  • April 7, 2021 COVID Restriction Update

    As of today, HFA individual low intensity workouts are no longer allowedAll workouts require an appointment with a 1-1 certified trainer/coach.

    As a result of this change, it is not financially feasible to keep the South Ridge facility open for workouts. Effective April 8th, the South Ridge facility will be closed for workouts until restrictions ease.
  • Spring Program Registration Opens April 1

    YMCA Member Spring Session Registration opens THURSDAY, April 1 at 8:00 am!

    This session runs from April 12 to May 7 with all programs being hosted at the DOWNTOWN YMCA.
    + Programs run twice a week either on Mon & Wed or Tues & Thur.
    + There are also Saturday swim lessons running for 8 weeks for parents that can not make it twice during the week.

  • Notice - Parking Restrictions in Effect March 23 at the Downtown YMCA

    As part of our capital reinvestment plan for the Downtown YMCA, we are replacing a roof top unit tomorrow (March 23). The U shaped parking lot adjacent to the facility will be blocked off and unavailable all day tomorrow while work is occurring.
  • YMCA of Medicine Hat Plans to Re-Open its South Ridge Branch

    March 17, 2021 — The YMCA of Medicine Hat is pleased to announce the gradual re-opening of its South Ridge branch (644 Spruce Way SE) on Monday, March 22nd. The facility will be open Monday – Friday from 2:30pm – 9:00pm. All Government of Alberta public health regulations will be followed, meaning that members will need to book appointments according to the intensity level of their workout. Low intensity workouts can be done individually, but high intensity workouts require a trainer. Appointments will be available to start booking on Saturday via the Member Portal on the YMCA’s website www.medicinehatymca.ca
