  • YMCA of Medicine Hat Receives Funding to Provide Affordable Licensed Day Camps

    The YMCA of Medicine Hat has been awarded $39,330 from the Government of Canada’s COVID-19 Emergency Community Support Fund administered by the United Way. These dollars will be used to directly offset the cost of licensed day camps scheduled for PD Days and school breaks between now and March 31, 2021. As a result of this funding, families will see a 60% savings on camp registration costs.

  • YMCA Employment Centre announces second Drive-Thru Recruitment Event in support of regional employers

    With the first highly successful Drive-Thru Recruitment Event wrapped up, the YMCA Employment Centre and partners are gearing up for round two on November 25, 2020. Last month, the partnership group consisting of the YMCA Employment Centre, Medicine Hat College, and Government of Alberta (Community & Social Services and Labour & Immigration) worked together to host a drive-thru job fair for Borea Construction, who was looking to hire approximately 100 employees for three renewable energy projects in southeastern Alberta. 
     
  • Deadline for Any Membership Refund Requests

    Notice: the deadline for any membership refund requests related to the mandated Covid-19 closure that occurred between March 16 – July 13, 2020 of our HFA facilities is October 30th at 5:00 pm.

     The YMCA Employment Centre, in partnership with Alberta Labour, Alberta Supports – Employment Hub, and Medicine Hat College, will be hosting a series of drive-thru job fairs over the coming year. 
  • YMCA OF MEDICINE HAT WORKS TO REDUCE THREAT OF COVID-19 SPREAD

    The Medical Officer of Health has advised the YMCA to temporarily close the Herald Before & After School Care program for 14 days from the date the employee was last there. This means we anticipate re-opening the program on October 13, 2020. During this closure, our understanding is that AHS will complete thorough contact tracing to identify anyone who may have been in close contact with this individual.

  • Pool Set to Reopen September 8

    Over the next 4 weeks, members will notice various phases as we get the pool ready. Please note that pool-related youth programs and swimming lessons will start on September 11. Registration details to follow.
